The Stahlratte is a traditional sailing ship built in 1903 in Holland. The vessel is owned by a not-for- profit organization and is a former boat of Greenpeace. This is the biggest boat doing the journey, at 129 ft it´s HUGE!
On the Stahlratte each sailor takes an active part at maneuvers, watching and galley shift, so you get to have the ultimate sailing experience. Captain Ludwig is a real character and very respected by the Kuna. On board there is fishing gear, snorkeling equipment and their famous rope swing. They do a 3 day trip with 3 days in San Blas and 1 day of open water crossing. Take note that this trip offers one full day less, but you still have approximately the same amount of time in San Blas.
